Beginning sewers will learn basics about sewing machines, useful tools, preparing and cutting fabric as well as basic stitches. Students will complete two projects: crisscross coasters and a 10-minute table runner. Students should bring a sewing machine, scissors, straight pins or clips, gray or beige thread, ½ yard of fabric, ¾ yard of a coordinating fabric, and two coordinating buttons. Mats, rulers, batting and some additional fabric will be provided. Youth and adults are welcome. A parent must accompany students 8-12 years old.
