Introduction to Painting with Oils & Cold Wax Medium

Meets: Sa from 10:00 AM to 12 N

Registration Fee: $60.00

Sorry, this course has been cancelled. Please contact our office to see if it will be rescheduled, or if alternative classes are available.

Come explore color, pattern, design and abstraction using oil paints mixed with cold wax medium, a product gaining popularity for its versatility and range. Lori will show you tools and techniques, and you'll create pieces on archival paper in this morning of creative play. All materials and supplies are included in the registration fee. You don't need to bring any supplies, but if you have household items or tools that might make interesting patterns or textures, you're welcome to bring them along. Pieces of burlap, corrugated cardboard, bubble wrap, shelf liner, ribbons, and string can all be pressed into the paint surface. And if you happen to have art supplies such as oil paints in colors you particularly like, or tools such as printmaking brayers or palette knives that you enjoy using, then bring those, too. It all can get a bit messy, so please bring an apron or wear painting clothes. Lori Elliott-Bartle is a painter and printmaker based in Omaha who finds inspiration in Great Plains landscapes. She shows work regionally and teaches regularly in her studio. Find out more about her background and see selected work at lorielliottbartle.com
